  • URL: Create a link to a website, to open a file (ex.: PDF file) or to make a phone call. To use this link type, enter the web address leading to your website in the URL field.

  • E-mail (also known as mailto): Add a link to an e-mail address. To use this link type, you will need to fill in the different fields regarding the address your link will point to and if needed the subject of your e-mail. You could also add informations regarding the content of your e-mail. Pay attention to special caracters: they are not always supported!

  • Phone: allows you to create a link that automatically dials a phone number when clicked. To use this type of link, select URL from the Link Type dropdown menu and enter the information in the URL field.

Link statistics

While all of the types listed above are supported in e-mails, we can only track statistics on URL type of links.

How to add a link on text

  1. Click where you would like to add your text.

  2. Write down the sentence or words on which you would like to put your link.

Should you write a web address (URL) directly in the content of your email?

We recommend avoiding the inclusion of a full web address (URL) directly in the body of your email.
    For example: https://www.mywebsite.com/myblog/1234567...
Instead, use action-oriented text to insert your links—such as Download the brochure, Learn more, or Read more.

    Why?
Long URLs are often visually unappealing and can disrupt the layout or display of your email in certain inboxes.
Also, by including the full URL in your text, you’re clearly revealing the destination of the link to both the reader and their spam filter.

When your email is sent, all links are automatically replaced by unique tracking links personalized for each subscriber. When a recipient clicks on a link, they’re first redirected through a tracking URL before reaching the actual destination.
This redirection process is what allows us to track your email’s click rate. While it’s virtually invisible to the user (happening in a fraction of a second), spam filters can detect that the visible link in the text is different from the actual redirection URL. In some cases, this may be flagged as a phishing attempt.

To avoid this, it’s best to hyperlink action words or phrases instead of displaying the full URL.

    Please note
If you absolutely need to display the full web address in your text, we recommend not adding a hyperlink to it. However, keep in mind that clicks on this link will not be tracked.

  3. Highlight the sentence or word on which you would like to add your link.

  4. Select the Link button in the toolbar (the little chain icon). The link properties window will open.

If you rather wish to select a font and size for your links that is different than your default choices, follow these steps:

  1. Select your hyperlink text.

Use our Copy styles tool to save a lot of time. This options allows you to copy the styles of a block and give them to another block. To do so, simply select the block from which you want to copy the styles. At your right, in bottom of the side panel, click the Copy styles button. Then, select the block where you want to reproduce the styles and click the Paste styles button also at the bottom of the side panel.

Here's how to remove link underline

  1. Click the block where your link is.
  2. Go to Block properties > Text properties > Links.
  3. Check No under the Underlined option.

The underline is there for a reason. It helps your reader to see easily where your links are and it indicates which text is clickable. However, for aesthetic reasons, it happens that we want to remove the underline. If so, we strongly recommend you to pick a bright color or other formatting options to differentiate your links from the rest of your text.

Add a link to an email (mailto link)
If you wish to change the link type to link to an email address instead, don't forget to change your link type from URL to e-mail. You will then be able to indicate the email address you want your readers to reach as well as the object of your e-mail, if you wish.
